Discussion question for October 8, 2021.

In Luke 4:24-27, Jesus gives examples of God’s favor being given to certain individuals and seemingly withheld from others. What is God’s standard for fairness? How does that influence your thoughts about the way things should work on earth? What do you understand about the specific examples Jesus used, the widow and Naaman, and why did that offend everyone in the synagogue? Science follows the “law of large numbers” but Jesus said “narrow is the gate”, how do you explain a God of exceptions?
